Goldfish Update

Leah & I have been cleaning out the fish tank every night to make sure Mario & Princess Peach have clean water. She also feeds them twice a day. Well this morning when I took the tank downstairs to clean I realized that Princess Peach had left us sometime in the middle of the night. I had to tell Leah that she was in fish heaven. I think it took her a few minutes to realize what happened & to wake up. Then I look at her again & her eyes are glistening because they're just full of tears. I took Mario out of the water, & then we took the tank with Princess Peach into the bathroom. I dumped her in the toilet & we said our good byes. You would have thought I flushed the tears right out of Leah's eyes & not the toilet itself, because Leah started balling. I know she was upset. We told her that fair fish don't usually live long. But we'll try to do better with Mario. Chris also told her that we would look at more fish next time we go to the grocery store. She felt better about that. I know Chris didn't want fish & he was upset because Leah was upset. But they're just fish. Goldfish. It's good for Leah to have pets, & we'll probably get her another fish to keep Mario company soon. At least it's not a rabbit or a guinea pig or a hamster... I really have to draw the pet line somewhere. Think good thoughts for Mario!
